A holiday apartment that accepts dogs may stand beside a beach where your dog is not permitted during your stay. Check the accommodation and coastal section independently. The location only works when both suit your travel dates and the way you want to spend each day.
What does the accommodation allow?
Include the number and size of your dogs when enquiring. Ask for confirmation that those animals are allowed in the apartment or room category you intend to book. A general pet filter may include properties with only certain suitable rooms or a requirement to register animals in advance.
Ask about additional charges and house rules. Can the dog remain alone briefly? Which shared areas are accessible? Are there requirements concerning the garden, furniture or cleaning? A fenced garden may be shared with other guests. If your dog can slip through small gaps, photographs and details of the fence are more useful than a dog-friendly label.
Find the actual beach entrance
Use the destination's official website to locate the designated dog beach and its entrance. Measure the walking route from the accommodation to that point, rather than simply the distance to the nearest water. A nearby beach entrance may be unsuitable for dogs during your stay while the permitted section is considerably farther away.
Check local information for your travel dates, including lead requirements and seasonal restrictions. Rules for the beach, promenade, nature reserve and dyke may differ. Read the signs when you arrive as well. A general holiday map does not replace current local instructions.
Think through an ordinary day
Identify a short morning and evening walk and a quieter alternative to a busy beach. Keep water, a bowl, lead, waste bags and your own towel readily available. Check dog access separately for a café or attraction. If the dog cannot be left alone at the property, a long outing without it may not be an option.
Save the property's written agreement alongside the link to local dog-beach information. If your travel dates change, check the beach rules again. This keeps the holiday grounded in routes and facilities you can actually use, rather than relying entirely on a pet symbol in a booking portal.
